SenseKit

Role: Creative / Experience Design
Agency: AKQA

Working with creative department I helped envision and develop SenseKit. A world first, modular sensory and haptic device kit. Which went on to win the Microsoft Accessibility Challenge.

The Challenge

One in ten of us suffer from sensory impairment.

At an individual level, people with disabilities are entitled to control over their lives, and therefore need to be consulted on issues that concern them directly - whether in health, education, rehabilitation or community living.

There are currently no products or services which aim to make sensory substitution, edge computing and AI accessible tools for people living with disabilities.

Our Idea

SenseKit makes designing new senses with AI and sensory substitution accessible to anyone.

It’s a mix-n-match kit of wearable senses and sensations to extend anyones environmental imagination.
